Victor’s review published on Letterboxd:
Loved it even more on my second watch. That ending shot is really something special. The incredibly powerful score, cinematography, Dani’s smile and its strong thematic implications. It is so overwhelmingly bizarre yet powerfully liberating. Aster does so much so well with this movie. I think it has problems. It definitely tries a little too hard in my opinion. But there is a lot to love here. A ton. So many really emotionally powerful moments and the themes are tackled so intelligently and creatively. Its visual style is so brilliant and unique in its bright camera exposure and colorful, eventful, creative and cohesive production design. Oh, and Florence Pugh is fantaaaasssttttiiccc. Didn’t praise her enough the first time around. Hyped to see what Aster does next.
