"I'M SERIOUS! DO YOU THINK I COULD HAVE DONE THAT WITHOUT YOU STANDING NEXT TO ME BEING STRONG?"
i’m a hoe for the whole ‘everything is an act of love’ theme in movies dealing with morality struggles. i loved this. the synthy score was so energetic and visceral, and that combined with the repeating shaky close ups of connie walking created such a unique, intriguing atmosphere. everyone’s who said this movie felt like both a panic attack and a manic+insomnia episode is absolutely right. it has the same strong energy and paranoia as THE SHINING (1980) and EX MACHINA (2014). it felt like i was going 200mph with no intention of slowing down—in the best way possible. i know the neon lighting + grit combo is cliche and overused now but god it worked so well here. pattinson‘s performance blew me away and i hope to see more to come.
