Writer & Filmmaker. Some shorts I made played at Sundance and AFI, some features I wrote were in theaters, and I make occasional supercuts d'hommage. I am haunted by waters.
Bravo’s photography, production design, title design, music, and period detail are always spectacular. Such a great eye and ear. In the acting department — I always seem to enjoy the effortlessness of the supporting cast more than the stylized leads themselves — who despite their yearning to connect — alienate.
Every Bravo short I’ve seen thus far has been aces in the design, photography, and music departments, but I’ve failed to connect. This was the first one I felt. If Hoffman played her socially maladaptive role smaller like Kerry Fox in An Angel At My Table, my empathy meter would’ve peaked.
