I feel so... tired. For the last time: asking the audience to sympathize with a rapist is toxic and plainly misogynistic!
Wanna create something truly groundbreaking? Show us what the woman survivor is dealing with! Tell us about HER fight, instead of using her as a vehicle to describe the tragedy of her husband and that of the poor old sexual offender.
Not surprised the Academy awarded a movie that humanizes a sexual predator though. Nothing new there.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

So... all a mother has to do, in order for her struggle to be taken seriously and get the help she should be receiving all along from her husband, is develop a severe case of postpartum psychosis that goes untreated and burn out completely, both mentally and physically to the point of having an almost fatal car accident. Note taken.

Α.k.a. white, violent, abusive cops deep down inside are misunderstood, good people -heroes at the end of the day.

Don't make the mistake of believing you'll get a movie that tackles social justice issues. What you're going to have, instead, are two hours of a racist, sexist, ableist, cop-romanticizing mess.

I have never been so disappointed and INFURIATED by an award nominated film. For further details I suggest this and this.
