when marc wahlberg has one of the better performances in a film, you know you're in for a good one.
Ok um this wasn’t very good.
It just seems that this guy came straight off r/OFWGKTA and /mu/ and decided to create a movie focused fully on aesthetics and his favourite Spotify playlist rather than a film with a solid plot.
I’ll talk about the music first because the use of songs in this film is just too much for me, christ. This was more like one of those youtube videos that is a homage to the creators favourite artist…
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Has to be up there with the most overrated animated movies ever made.
The visuals? Yeah, they're great.
The rest? Not really.
It confuses me why this is the best rated anime movie of all time (referring to MyAnimeList), because this is painfully average at best. Sure the visuals are stunning, but it suffers from awfully generic characters that completely defeats the purpose of a good romance film.
I adore the romance genre, but the main reason I like Before…
Unironically one of the best films ever made and I'm being serious.
The budget was fucking $200!!!! Any person who manages to make something of this quality and entertainment for that amount of money should be awarded. Fuck off King's Speech, Argo, The Shape of Water and most of the other best picture winners last decade. Who Killed Captain Alex should be recognised as a masterwork of filmmaking in an area with limited financial backing.
Meme, cult film, whatever it is... this film is simply and unironically brilliant.
