Viktor Prentovski’s review published on Letterboxd:
The latest movie from the Coens. Was it good? Yes. Was it great? Probably not.
I think this is their most inaccessible movie. I liked the folk songs. I liked the characters. I just don't know where they were going with this movie. The cinematography was excellent, the performances were great, especially Oscar Isaac. He made a jerk of a character somewhat lovable and sympathetic. The soundtrack was amazing. Best of the year I think. It's a shame the Academy snubbed Oscar for best actor and best original song. Is it a shame that it got snubbed for Best Picture? Maybe. Every movie other than American Hustle was deserving of the nomination in my opinion. If you are a fan of folk music and the Coens, you should see this movie.
