"Where'd you get the beauty scar, tough guy? Eating pussy?"
I remember watching this on TV all the time when I was a kid. Didn't know what the hell was going on, just that Al Pacino loved drugs and shooting people up haha.
I watched it again about 3 years ago and finally got it on bluray now and over the years I can say I really enjoy this film. The ol' rags to riches story...the rise and fall of Tony Montana. I can say that the near 3hr runtime does the story justice with the blood and carnage happening on the screen from a character taking the world that he thinks he owns through enduring agonizing hardship of being an immigrant.
This was another film that was hated when it was released and now obtains a foothold cult status among my other favorites.
I admire Brian De Palms's political/social commentary in his films as to open our eyes through explicit entertainment but I just don't think anything can top his main effort on here.
Plus amazing performances from Pacino, Michelle Pfeiffer oh my what a sexy tough lass (best catwoman ever) and Steven Baur.
disclaimer: do not do the drinking game with how many "F" bombs are in the movie haha
