The star here is Rian Johnson. He's the one with the reins and we benefit because of it. He slows down, intercuts, mutes the sound, plays with the medium in such a way that he punches up the action and the story behind it. All of this without fucking up the formula. One of the best of the series. People constantly clapped and cheered various of Rian's action set pieces. I miss that. Crowd participation done right is the best time at the movies.
