Midsommar ★★★★½

Such as the Swedish title already implies, everything happens in midsummer under the famous Scandinavian midnight sun,so the mystery allows for a different conception,as all the boldest acts use daylight as the background, screenplay is not fabulous or anything like that, but thanks to representations (noted from the first scene) creating relationship between the protagonist's current state of mind with the alternative community, makes little difference in context, cinematography is somewhat psychedelic, causing optical discomfort in certain opportunities, one of the most significant facts is when there is a transition from the second to the third act, protagonist's attitudes change noticeably. It's a thriller that balances very well between psychological and visual, this may be why it's so complex, because one resource may be diverting attention from another.
