oh my fucking god this was SO STUPID the entire thing rides on the audience caring about this america girl but gives us no time to get to know her and does nothing to ensure we care. like genuinely i did not care whether she lived or died and even without that the plot is almost incoherent and structurally a complete disaster. can they please stop making these movies

this was certainly well shot and stylized (sexy end of first act title drop especially) but something about it feels… very icky. especially with how they handled mollie and paul

“i wanted to say, in another life, i would be happy just doing laundry and taxes with you.”

im sure if you’ve been on the internet for any period of time you’ve seen this poem that frequently makes its rounds— the orange by wendy hope, the ending line of which is “i love you. i’m glad i exist.” this film makes me feel the same way that line makes me feel— glad i exist, and happy to be doing laundry and taxes.
