A real gem. Thrilling, emotional, torturous, sad, hopeful. Brie Larson delivers a powerhouse performance, matched at every turn by Jacob Tremblay. I also loved how long the film went on, really digging in to the aftereffects of living in Room. That it works as a metaphor for motherhood (having kids make you feel trapped, but can also set you free) is just a bonus.
I don't really have anything but praise. This was a tight, well-acted thriller that turned into a great drama, with excellent characters and strong performances, well-directed and -written.
