"Lady Bird" is easily the biggest surprise of the year. This is such a funny, warm, and just extremely well done coming of age story. I laughed a lot, it hit me right in the feels on numerous occasions and gave me some of the best performances all year from Saoirse Ronan and Laurie Metcalf. Tracy Letts and Lucas Hedges are also worth mentioning for there strong work here. Greta Gerwig has crafted one of the very best films of the year and given us one of the most well written and directed movies all year.
