Like I said, 2019 was a great year for movies. Midsommar is very eerie, grotesque and contains subtlety... for the most part. Of course the cinematography and acting are great but I also loved the music. Fit the setting pretty well.
It’s kind of obvious this movie took ideas from Wicker Man but I’m fine with that because the only thing Wicker Man has going for it is the premise due to its lackluster execution.
I guess maybe one issue I had was that most of the group still decided to stick around even after the suicide scene. Kinda unrealistic but it’s whatever, still an overall great film.
