Whitney’s review published on Letterboxd:
We just want to see the cliffs.
Harrowing and bold, I saw this almost a week ago and the ticking of Nolan's watch is still deafening my ear drums. It's as if my heart was beating along side those ticks, faster and faster, louder and louder.
Zimmer's score is a life raft on it's on, carrying this film as a leader.
Dunkirk is relentless and despite the lack of gore, is incredibly grueling.
A non-linear, full body submersion into the trenches of hysteria.
All we did was survive.
And that's enough.
