    Been meaning to rewatch this for a long time. I love me some Star Trek, and even though this movie is so different from most "real Star Trek" stuff, for some reason it just works, even despite power-duo Kurtzman and Orsi writing the script. Anyway, I love this movie.

    A headache inducing nightmare. There are like 10-minute chunks where there are just wookies groaning at each other with no subtitles or much of any indication of what they’re trying to say. They all sound like dying animals. And then the other segments just make you wish for a quick death.

    I recently read Michael Benson's book Space Odyssey about the making of 2001. It was a great read, and I'd highly recommend it to anybody who loves the original movie, which right now I have as my #1 of all time. The passage about this film is very unceremonious. Literally the only thing is says other than the basic details is:

    Passable as entertainment, it was ultimately forgettable.
