Will Gotlib’s review published on Letterboxd:
Definitely a wannabe Terrence Malick movie. It's certainly as visually beautiful as any of his films I've seen. The cinematography is so far and away the best thing about this movie. It's ennnncroyable. Unbelievable. It does not however have an emotional core (at least a successful one) that also marks Malick's films, from what I've seen. The "stunts" and the suffering that Leo endures are impressive, but they don't really serve anything other than making you go "oof, wouldn't wanna be that guy" more than maybe any other movie I've ever seen. It's almost sadistic. Props to Leo for eating all that raw meat though? I wouldn't have done it.
