If it’s a coming of age movie I’m bout to over rate it
Top 20 Movies
How ironic I enter my 21st birthday ugly crying over a movie about everyone’s need to find understanding on a day that 4 years ago just made me re-evaluate my friendships and life in general in a really poignant way and come to peace with myself that you’ll never find anyone who understands you 100% but it’s the differences and getting to know each other that make relationships romantic or platonic or otherwise beautiful. However to experience those things there’s…
Bratz has a complicated subtext about how capitalistic societies position people into different social classes and how the leaders in those societies use any means necessary to oppress and ensure people don’t deviate from the social class they are in. Also that the system itself must be abolished and not just merely reformed in order for to remove oppressors from their positions of power. No I will not be elaborating on this
A truly enigmatic but absolutely inspirational tennis player. Will always be rooting for Naomi.
Naomi is having her own coming of age moment forging her own path. Really touching how she understands the platform she has and wants to utilise it to make change for good. I don’t particularly know if the doc is that insightful but I still had a great time watching it. Also there’s parts where there’s style over substance. However the last episode really was beautiful much love to an absolute trailblazer. Olympic Gold for Japan !!
Not me being attracted to Ferris, Sloane and Cameron yeah that’s what you call bi panic. Also Cameron is the main character.
Lots of fun and great message to just live in the moment or life will just pass you by. My gripe though is Ferris is unlikeable and annoying. The worst offences emotionally traumatising his girlfriend just to get her out of school (Grandma dead !?!?). Not giving a fuck about the anxiety you’re dumping on your mentally ill…
Yeah this was super straightforward and easy to follow- me when I lie.
Mind bending psychological thriller. Takes a close look into the psyche of being an up and coming celebrity and how the pressure can drive you mad. Maybe worshipping celebrities is not a good thing hot take?? Also some juicy commentary on the patriarchy and controlling women. The narrative structure in this is messy and confusing and disorientating replicating the mind of Mima. Absolutely gripping from beginning to end. Can’t wait to rewatch in the future will probably think even better of it.
