It takes skill and feeling to write a satisfying love story. It takes vision and confidence to make you sit there for minutes on end and just linger in how big and cool this fucking boat is. It takes madness to be so obsessed with knowing absolutely everything about the Titanic that you know exactly what point in the night the plates in the first-class dining room started falling off the shelves. James Cameron, that magnificent bastard, has it all.

Love the detail that Billy Zane's character later lost his fortune in the Depression and killed himself. James couldn't let it go - he had to let you know that this guy did eventually suffer a horrible comeuppance offscreen. Spoiler, I guess, but you've had ample opportunity to see this.
