The perfect nightmare fuel! This is my first Wes Craven film and I loved it. The effects look so good. It was just a constant mind-fuckery. The parts where he's coming out of the wall were brilliant and the bath scene was done so well. The sound effects are just as creepy as the visuals and the costume design for Freddie was perfect. The one thing that carried it for me was the editing. It was so seamless mixing between the "dreams" and "reality". I think it lost its momentum towards the end which put a little bit of a downer on it for me but none the less, still a great film.
The concept alone gives it a high rating but the fact that they nailed it, makes it even better.
