Letterboxd — Your life in film

With only two actors and one location, I wondered if this would be better suited as a play. Absolutely not!  This is a beautifully shot film with both Margaret Qualley and Christopher Abbott commanding the screen. Trust! You want to be close-up and personal with these two.

Into the Spider-Verse was a critical sensation & to this day, my favorite Spider-Man film. I remember seeing the trailer & for some odd reason, wasn’t too sold. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, in many respects, is a masterpiece. This is one of the most staggering and ambitous pieces of animation filmmaking I've ever seen, it's frankly unbelivable just how fantastic it truly is. That being said, I can't quite slap the 5/5 rating on this one just yet, and admittedly it's for a slightly unfair reason that I will address momentarily.

But to keep praising this masterful sequel, Across the Spider-Verse does absolutely everything a good sequel should…

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse might be the first animated film to leave my jaw on the floor, wondering how the hell the animators were able to accomplish what they did in a couple of particular sequences.
