Apparently having a movie only about a dance academy run by witches isn't enough. So there's other stuff about German identity and the Holocaust and Mennonites and forgiveness and abuse of power and a Swinton stunt cast which is all convoluted and distracting.

But the parts of this movie that are about witches, and dancing, and dancing witches (aka most of it) are absolutely skull-blowingly great.
