Daniel Kibbe’s review published on Letterboxd:
An unruly mix of neo-noir and buddy cop action comedy, when I wish it would have committed itself to one or the other. It retains neither the dark soul of the former, nor the entertaining dynamics of the latter aside from some jokes that really hit. Really, it just feels passionless, when passion is really what drives a good mystery, a good noir, even a good action film. Gosling and Crowe are electric together and they, along with Angourie Rice (who plays Gosling's daughter and, often, equal partner in the chaos) hold the film together.
