TIFF 2018: Movie #1
I’m glad this is the film that broke my tiff virginity. natalie portman’s acting was PHENOMENAL... please @ the academy let this film be her second oscar win!!!! brady corbet described his whole film as one juxtaposition and that’s what really made me fall for it. minimalism vs maximalism, impressionistic vs expressionistic, scott walker’s score vs sia’s pop songs... the differences between the first and second half of the film were so bold and different. not to mention the camera work was so well thought out and creative, I’m in love.
