The Wizard of Oz

fantastic. i saw sam raimi's reboot movie or whatever it is some years ago way before seeing this for the first time, and i feel like rewatching that, cuz i do remember enjoying it. that movie was my introduction into the world of Oz and had me associating james franco with it, so. this movie is evidently much better, it's aged wonderfully, i'd even say something like this is timeless. heard the production on this was awful as fuck but i'd be lying if i said it didn't all work perfectly in the end. performances, makeup, and especially that set design, that is very obviously a set, but somehow ends up only adding to the world? The look of it clearly being on a set does not hinder the design behind everything, there's some appeal in it, the time period and all. really enjoyed this
