Hey, am I being too sensitive or is this film just littered with movie references throughout? "Take the carbon, leave the bible." sounds like it's a parody of "Take the gun. Leave the cannoli." The beach dancing scene feels like a reference to Pulp Fiction. The shot of water bursting out of a dam reminded me of The Shining. And let's not forget Sam's escape from Camp Ivanhoe that seems to be a direct copy from The Shawshank Redemption. Is there an article on the internet that lists out all the easter eggs? A quick google search doesn't show any satisfying results.
Anyway, the khaki scouts, especially scout master ward played by Edward Norton are truly precious human beings, still love Wes Anderson and this coloring book of a movie as much as ever.
