YI JIAN’s review published on Letterboxd:
Reality through a glass ball. Two puppets share the same puppeteer, their movements are synchronized as if their thoughts are one as well.
Irène Jacob is so beautiful even the camera seemed to be transfixed by her, unable and unwilling to turn away. The coffee stain color palette makes the entire film look like an old photograph, incredibly soothing to watch. The gentle images -- red poking out of a sea of yellow, lime green stirred with caramel brown, all of them could sing me to sleep, or was it because both Weronika and Vernonique were always either shown drifting off to sleep or waking up? Ah, hopefully tonight I'll have the pleasure to see them again in my dreams.
