YI JIAN’s review published on Letterboxd:
Sentient shadows walking upright, sliding and roaming with an endless supply of scissors, emerging from an escalator that only goes down, down, down, the rabbit hole. A big "huh?" from me coming out of this one, and its not a satisfying kind of confusion, I feel like some sort of story was being told but all the major plot points just flew over my head. I love how sound was used to enhance the creepy imagery though, jordan peele is a snake charmer and the tune of his flute is throwing a party for the hair on the back of my neck. Lost count of how many times I had sunken deep down into my seat to try and fend off the tension and the images that were being fed to me, all things considered this movie is pretty neat, it's just that for now I'm kinda lost and my brain is stuck at processing.
