Wow, what a deliciously creepy film first-time director Dan Gillroy has here. Gyllenhaal plays his hand perfectly as a cold obsessive who finds career opportunity in capturing crime footage as fast and as grizzly as possible in order to sell it at the highest price to the local news, a pursuit that eventually leads him to bend the rules of the game - along with everyone around him.
