Yo this was incredible bro i haven't felt felt so much for an anime in a minute.

The aesthetic of course was the thing that pulled me in. Huge fan of the cyberpunk sub genre, but man i did not expect this emotional experience from the show.

The writing of the characters was so good, their personalities and interactions were so perfectly thought out you really felt them come together as a crew. The villains are scary and shady af…

When I watched this I was at the end of the worst bout of insomnia i’ve ever experienced but i still didnt doze off during s dingle moment of this flick.

    That’s how entertaining it was

The journey the film took us on was defo a memorable one, seemingly lacking in cohesion at first and deliberately on the nose. Cleverly revealing its more meta elements as this joy ride builds and builds.

A kiss from a dark winged angel...a picnic to witness the end of the world.

The walls that confine most became their only freedom. We peer into an adventure on the edge between warped reality and rationale.

This film was both endearing and disturbing. The characters themselves having a Child-like innocence but at the same time pasts filled with darkness.

Narrative themes like salvation, abuse, innocence, apocalypse all weave into each other. Love this sort of story telling.

The cinematography was stunning throughout and that final scene. Goodness.

[ Bonus points for cool priest man and existential bickering :) ]

Baumbach is defo one of my fave filmmakers. The way he tells stories is just so well controlled. It’s somehow pretentious but authentic at the same time.

This film really is a study into the family dynamic. As opposed to Baumbach’s later work marriage story, the focus here is less on the divorce and more on it’s effects. Also we see things play out more from the perspective of the first born son,Walt.

The performances here are amazing. A pretentious,…
