At least he didn't turn into a lobster. Wait, wrong movie.

First impressions: Sofia Coppola directed the shit out of that film.
Philippe Le Sourd (the last DP Kar-Wai Wong used) photographed the shit out of the film.
Kidman killed it...him...it...both.

It was just really good. Quit comparing it to 1971; watch Coppola's on its own merits. Don't listen to the hype or the hate and just watch it.
