Didn't really work for me but Libatique is doing magical things here and unlike most superhero movies, it has the courtesy of trying to be an actual *movie*
Picture an alternate reality where I'm a studio executive and Faris/Dayton pitch me this movie.
Them: Emma Stone is, like, hella gay.
Me: Here's 100 million dollars.
Them: We're not finished. It's shot in 16 mm, there's cotton candy colored neon lighting in like four scenes, all the bras are pointy, her beard husband is literally dressed like Fred from Scooby-Doo in one scene, and Alan Cumming plays her queer spirit guide.
Me: 200 MILLION DOLLARS
