Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Star Wars: The Last Jedi ★★★★½

The Last Jedi has been one of the most intriguing, frustrating, and the one Star Wars film that has continued to go through my mind since it premiered. I’ll have a whole video essay out on this by this weekend explaining all of this. But for me this film adds layers to the Star Wars lore, franchise, and the core understanding of what being an important figure in a world that so desperately needed one.
Besides the canto night planet sequence and some of the stuff with Poe and of course some of the jokes .... I think this movie is pure brilliant. Everything with Luke feels perfectly in line with what the original trilogy set up and adds more layers to a character we have explored in three previous films. This film bleeds with desperation and not from the filmmakers but from the characters. Doing all they can to survive.
Also the Rey and Kylo stuff is perfect.
