Memories of Murder

Memories of Murder ★★★★½

When you watch a thriller about a serial killer, it's really not that unusual to feel the urge to kill. Obviously we're usually talking about the urge to kill the monster who keeps killing, but Bong Joon-ho manage to bring forward that urge when it comes to the incompetent cops working the case.

It's really a magnificent performance from the director. He takes a common theme, and twists it around. Bringing humor to the grimness, and makes us despise the cops even more than the unknown killer picking of woman by woman. We've seen incompetent cops portrayed often, but nothing quite like this.

Memories of Murder is a roller coaster of emotions, but you always stays invested. It never lose sight of its object. It's, in short, simply brilliant, and a truly worthwhile experience.
