Mank 2020
Mank might end up being Fincher's Death Proof when we look back on his filmography. But I think Death Proof is kick ass and too often misunderstood, neglected; it's a fun deconstruction of cinema through the emulation of grindhouse. Fincher finds a similar approach in Mank. But because we're in a climate where movies only trend for a week, I'm afraid the film is bound to be misunderstood as well. Mank isn't an amazing film, but there's too much going on to immediately write it off.
