I wasn’t sure how Laika would top the heartfelt Kubo and the Two Strings. Instead of even trying, with Missing Link, they focused less on emotion and more on the comedy in comradrie while still maintaining an adventurous story. All the kids in the theater were laughing loudly at the physical hijinx. Hopefully they left with a desire to pave their own road in much the way Sir Lionel Frost did and Laika continues to do so again and again.
