The French Dispatch

The French Dispatch ★★★★½

As predicted, the rewatch was awesome. The French Dispatch is dense and with every scene being manicured and choreographed as tightly as they were, it's eye candy. The score/soundtrack is on point, s/o to Jarvis Cocker as Tip-Top, it's ear candy. The dialogue is fast and tickles the brain, yep, I'm talking mind candy. The French Dispatch is CANDY. Brain candy? Candy candy. CANDY CANDY. In my Wes Anderson ranking I put this as #4 now and I'm ready for the masses to agree. Can you imagine if he tried to pull this off earlier in his career? You know a pro needs to be at the wheel for this revolving door of celebrity cameos and whimsy (mixed with whiffs of melancholy of course). I still can't get over the fact that the chef, Nescaffier (Steve Park) is the same actor as the awkward high school peer in Fargo. Dude just completely knocks it out of the... Park.
