when i saw this in theatres for the first time i hadn't even turned 16 but was really unhappy in life. being there, however, in that moment seeing all this crazy dumb shit happening on-screen i was able to forget about all that and just watch keanu reeves kick ass. things have gotten much better since then and i often rewatch this trilogy at the end of every milestone or at the beginning of every undertaking. these movies have gotten me through a lot. these characters mean a lot. i'm so grateful for them.
the sudden passing of Lance Reddick, just a week from when the fourth comes out too, really shook me to the core. he was such a gem in all of his roles but THESE movies were how i really got to know about him. and he kicked SO much ass in this movie in particular, it was great to see. a heartbreaking loss, for one of our finest and most dedicated to the bit actors in recent memory. a true legend on-screen and off. rest in peace, Lance Reddick. thank you for being apart of something that gave me so much solace, and continues to do so.
