A couple of reviews ago, I said that Andrei Tarkovsky is the official all-time best (in my humble opinion, of course). Well now, I can conclusively say, without a single doubt in my mind, that Kurosawa holds the cinematic 'silver medal'.
Also, considering this, Come And See, Mishima: A Life In Four Chapters, and Shoah, 1985 is an absolutely golden year for cinema.
