    A Nightmare on Elm Street

Rewatched this movie again tonight, but there will be no review for it. This as close as it gets to being the perfect film for me as far as commercial horror films goes and I highly doubt a big budget studio will ever be able to doubt this horror movie.

Instead, this review is a forewarning for everyone who is going to be watching horror movies this month. Do not watch horror movies on network cable. Commercials ruin the immersion…

  • Dracula

In 1926, Nosferatu attacked England. His reign in London didn't last for very long, perhaps a night or two if I can recall. In 1931, England got attacked by another vampire by the name Count Dracula. Am I crazy enough to call this a sequel? You bet I am. But these scientists have long past evolved from trying to figure out what is happening and are now starting to pinpoint there is another vampire out on the loose. They even…

    Invasion of the Body Snatchers

It was pretty lucky where Amazon had failed me on letting me watch the original, Hulu had given me this option instead. This was an excellent replacement to what I think many consider to be a good film. I'm not entirely certain if this would be considered a remake or a reimagining but it works on it's own accord and should be sought out for people who like films with the theme of paranoia.

This was my introduction to many…

1/31 - History of horror challenge
    Creature from the Black Lagoon

I'm peaking behind the curtains a little bit early to start off the history of horror challenge. I decided to start off with Creature from the Black Lagoon, a film I've seen before, to remind me of the style of what universal monster movies were made like. This one still holds up pretty as well as I recalled it being.

The creature is the main selling point for this…

  • Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part III: Rebellion

Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part III: Rebellion

As an ending to the highly underrated anime series Madoka Magica, this was a sequel with far more effort than I had imagined when I first watched it in 2016. Of course I still can't believe that Gen Urobuchi would still write something that would change the alteration of the universe from the series, and leave it feeling like you were devastated from what you have witnessed.

Homura Akemi is my favorite character in this entire movie, a character who…

  • Network

How do you hand over a movie about ideologies to a man who has no confirmed identification like me? Making a great movie will help persuade me to think and slump on the ideas that you present Mr. Lumet. If you have never seen this movie you should get on it quickly. Right now at the time of this review it's currently on Netflix.

This is the type of movie where I wish I could write well enough to reflect…

    Film Club #8

Pretty certain that this is just the movie version of Dark Souls

  • Frankenweenie

One of the most common things for me to see anything is to have a dog in it. For I am personally someone who loves dogs sometimes a bit more than people. This effect can wear out it's welcome especially if it's a 90 minute movie though. Luckily Tim Burton is able to make a good film without just relying on a cute dog.

This story starts off as a cute retelling of the story Frankenstein, and eventually leads to…

You cannot pay me to finish this movie.

  • Psycho

    Scavenger Hunt #54

Alfred Hitchcock 1960 horror movie may have scared people back in the day, but for me personally, I wasn’t too terrified about what was happening on screen. So strange enough I feel like an odd one out in the love of Psycho.

Psycho I feel personally starts after 30 minutes into the film. It starts off with a woman having to contfront a difficult situation, which was stealing money from the office she was working at. For…

  • Stalker

This one is going to require a rewatch to get my full thoughts on it, unfortunately I'm unequipped to write down my pure thoughts about this film, because I suck at writing.

But I thought it was pretty excellent with a bit of boring parts between here and there but it was overall well worth the 3 hours of watching.

    Scavenger Hunt #54

What a powerful film to leave me stunless. To be honest I didn’t know much about the film when I had started, with only reading the synopsis for Letterboxd. So what I thought I was getting was a family trip to the Middle East to learn about their mother.

I’m not going to spoil the actual plot because I believe that people should find out on their own similarly to the way I learned through watching.
