I never thought that after watching Shang-Chi, my favorite martial arts fight of the year would be in Malignant…
I don’t think I’ve ever in my life seen something this shamelessly absurd and entertaining. Truly.
I love James Wan’s work, and this is all of my favorite trademarks of his without any excess. This pays loving homage to Italian horror from the 70’s, and feels like the ultimate mash-up of Wan’s previous works.
This movie has the actual most ridiculous twist I’ve ever seen, and it commits to it so lovingly and shamelessly that it becomes a dream to watch unfold. The fact that this even got made is hilarious to me, and I love everything about it.
