Damn I'm so behind on logging these.
This movie is still incredible. What's funny is so much is made of the lesbian relationship that I feel like it's constantly called out like that's it's defining feature, when in reality it's just an airtight noir thriller that happens to be about a queer relationship. The main characters' sexuality are not superfluous (Corky being a woman is why Caesar lets his guard down around her in the first place) but it isn't…

Kids loved it!

Coco 2017
One of my daughter’s favorites and I think one of Pixar’s most structurally perfect films.
The way they hide exposition and play sleight of hand with the films big twists is second to none. There are so many pieces of information to give the audience that might tip their hand and none of it feels obvious or forced, and they hide every revelation in a moment focused on something ELSE (eg Hectors nickname as a joke) that you never realize you’re being given the pieces to a puzzle you didn’t even know you were putting together. Honestly brilliant in that regard.
